Up to 117.0.1 I was able to open and run Main, B and C at the same time. To make myself more clear, let's say I have three Firefox Portable installations called "Main", "B" and "C". When I try to open the second or third instance they instead just open a new window of the first instance. However I upgraded to version 118 today and now only the very first instance I start opens as expected. Up to version 117.0.1 everything was fine. Ofc FirefoxPortable.ini has the AllowMultipleInstances=true set. I'm using them all at the same time for different purposes. I installed (extracted) all three of them to different directories (which I have full control over). Thanks in advance for any reply and obviously any correction I'll receive to what I probably wrongly assumed above.įor several years now I'm using three local installations of FF Portable on my PC. Since I'm quite far to be a Firefox Portable expert, now my assumption is that Firefox Portable v105.0.2 must have somehow corrupted a local temporary cache file (or database file) that it uses when starting and trying to recover all old sessions previously still in use before it was closed.īut since I also tried to run Firefox Portable while also specifying officially documented '-safe-mode' option so after manually creating another shortcut ending with '.\FirefoxPortable.exe -safe-mode', but even that still changes nothing in Firefox Portable 'Profile Missing' error, my question is could it be possible to reset that local temporary cache file (or database file) that Firefox Portable use when starting to recover all his old sessions ? Problem is that now, whenever I try again to run Firefox Portable (via its launcher) I always only see same error : Problem is that all 3 windows immediately went to 'Not Responding' state and never recovered from there so after some time I decided that awaiting more time for them to possibly recover proper status back to 'Running' was just a waste of time and decided to close one of those FFP windows. Well in reality when I 1st started current Firefox Portable v105.0.2 everything seemed almost normal, I mean 3 Firefox windows were opened just like recoverying latest 3 Firefox Portable windows still opened while for some reason I'm not recalling I had to force closing one of them. ! \ Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. I'm sorry for adding just another post on this topic but meeting 'Profile Missing' error message is somehow becoming an issue.ġst of all I manually upgraded to current Firefox Portable v105.0.2 over previous v105.0.1 that I probably only manually upgraded over previous v104.0.2 that if I recall well still gave me infamous error even if directly manually upgraded over previous v103.0.2: If any of that was reported or documented somewhere, sometime, I failed to find it. ![]()
